Case studies
From invisible in AI search to new customers calling.
More people now ask ChatGPT and other AI tools who to hire. We rebuilt the websites of two Bay Area small businesses so those tools could find and recommend them. Here is what happened after launch.
Case study 01 — GamaBuilt
About seven weeks after launch, a new client found GamaBuilt on ChatGPT.
GamaBuilt is a boutique general contractor that builds and renovates high-end homes in San Francisco and Marin. The owner, Eddie Gama, takes on two projects at a time and is on site every day.
In March 2026 we audited the old website. It was mostly photo galleries, with almost no written content and no structured data. The business appeared under three names and three web addresses, so AI tools couldn't connect it to its own work.
In early October, the buyers of a mid-century modern home in Mill Valley contacted Eddie. They had asked ChatGPT for contractors who could remodel it. The project is estimated at around $1 million, and GamaBuilt is bidding on it.
What we did
- Chose one name, GamaBuilt, and one address, gamabuilt.com, and redirected the two old domains to it
- Wrote plain-language pages that describe the work, the process, and the areas served
- Gave each project its own page with location, year, scope, architect, and square footage
- Added client testimonials and structured data on every page

After the call, Eddie ran a similar search himself. ChatGPT listed GamaBuilt with four other Marin and San Francisco firms and described it as a design-focused builder of high-end whole-house renovations, including mid-century homes.
Case study 02 — Espresso Subito
A mobile coffee caterer that had the experience but not the website to show it.
Espresso Subito has brought a full espresso bar and professional baristas to weddings, corporate events, and private parties around the Bay Area since 1998. The owner, Gary Goldstein, has served clients like Salesforce, Oracle, Kaiser, and Stanford University.
None of that was easy to find on the old website. We rebuilt it so that a person or an AI tool can answer the basic questions without calling: what it costs, where it serves, how many guests it can handle, and who has hired it.
The site launched on July 24. About a month later, Espresso Subito was hired to run its coffee bar for two days at Dreamforce in September. Since launch, Gary has also had inquiries for a wedding in Mill Valley, a photo shoot for a VIP client, and a hackathon in Berkeley.
What we did
- New pages for weddings, corporate events, the menu, pricing, reviews, and common questions
- A published rate card by guest count and hours, with what is and isn't included
- Real client logos and Google reviews on the home page
- Structured data on every page, plus files that tell AI crawlers what to read

Espresso Subito was the only one of the five whose price ChatGPT could quote, because the new site publishes it. ChatGPT tagged it "Best transparent pricing" and named its clients UC Berkeley, Salesforce, and Oracle.
What these two cases show
Small businesses can show up next to much larger competitors. The website has to be built for it.
It takes a few months to start working. Then it works.
Both businesses had new work within two months of launch. That was quick. For most clients, movement shows up between month three and month five.
Stated plainly
Nobody controls what AI tools recommend, and we can't promise placement in a specific answer. What we can do is make sure every fact about your business is written in a form these tools can read.
